Like a lot of actors we’ve look at in this blog series, like Dan Duryea, John Hodiak, Richard Basehart, etc., Sullivan isn’t forgotten today. He is, however, very underrated as an actor both during his era and now. It seemed like studios weren’t always sure what to do with him, even though he proved that he was an amazing tough guy in unique, dark noirs. But studios already had their go-to actor for those roles. Sullivan, on the other hand, spent a good deal of time at MGM where they really didn’t have a designated studio tough guy. He was mostly used for boring leading man roles throughout his career and occasionally interesting supporting parts.     The businessman fled Russia after after lifting the lid on a $230 million tax fraud by corrupt Russian government officials and died of a heart attack while out jogging in Surrey in 2012. Police and his wife do not suspect foul play, but an inquest heard his stomach contained traces of a rare plant poison.

    The Russian oligarch fled to Britain after falling out with Vladimir Putin and lived under tight security. He was found hanged at his Surrey mansion in 2013, but a coroner recorded an open verdict.

    A property developer and friend of Berezovsky was found impaled on railings below his central London flat. Young represented Berezovsky in business trips to Russia and was in contact with mafia figures.

    Johnny Elichaoff

    A friend of Scot Young and the former husband of TV presenter Trinny Woodall fell to his death from a West London shopping centre a month after Mr Young died.

  • 2016

    Dr Matthew Puncher

    A British scientist who discovered proof Alexander Likvinenko had been poisoned was found dead with stab wounds in 2016. A coroner concluded his death was suicide.
