How to add Google Play to the Fire 7, Fire HD 8, and new Fire HD 10

UPDATE: Amazon’s most recent Fire OS update, 5.6.0, has broken the install button for third-party applications. Fortunately, there are a number of simple workarounds, including locking and unlocking your device or switching to the Amazon app store and back, to make that grayed-out install button clickable. If you’re able to do that, the instructions given in the rest of this post should still work just fine. Hopefully Amazon will correct this issue in subsequent updates.

With the new $150 Fire HD 10 tablet finally shipping, the first reviews of it are starting to pop up all over the place—and almost without exception, every review says that it’s a great tablet, but will unfortunately only let you install apps from Amazon’s store.

It makes me wonder just how much research any of those review writers ever bothered to do, given that restriction hasn’t actually been in effect for months…

Three Ways with: MAC’s Prep + Prime Fix+

beautsoup

“You’ve spent £15.50 on a bottle of water?”

Well, no. MAC’s Fix+ may look like water, feel like water and taste like water (an accident..), but it is anything but water.

Admittedly, I searched for this under the false impression that it was a setting spray, aimed at making your make-up last longer by creating a thin film that withstands various ‘pollutants’ (hence the phrase, “hairspray for your face”). I even paid for it, brought it home, unboxed it, stared at it, bragged about it and tested it before realising that it is not a setting spray, but something much, much better.

Use 1: Skin Refresher

So if I had actually read the box, I would have noticed that MAC describes the spray as a “skin refresher” or “finishing mist.”

With my dry-combination skin, the spray works best as a “refresher” used after moisturiser. Spritzed over my face just before my primer/foundation, Fix+ gives…

REVIEW | Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Cathedral

Ever since I’ve been interested in makeup, finding a perfect nude, MLBB shade has been next to impossible. Sure, I’ve come across a few that’s been acceptable, but I could never just settle on those shades and had to keep looking. Then came along the cult favourite Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Cathedral. The swatches I saw online looked absolutely divine, and I knew that this could potentially be it; the be-all and end-all of my nude lipstick collection. One fateful day it was finally restocked after months and months of waiting, and here we are.

Raffles, Meres and Anthony Valentine

http://cult-tv-lounge.blogspot.com/2014/12/raffles-1977.html

Anthony Valentine was in every way the ideal actor to play Raffles. As Toby Meres in Callan he had demonstrated his uncanny ability to combine enormous charm with a sinister and sadistic edge. Meres’ job sometimes involves killing people, and for Meres that is more of a bonus than a downside. Raffles has a very much more light-hearted tone than Callan and Raffles as a character is much less dark than Toby Meres but that very slight hint of sadism is still there and it’s one of the things that makes this an intriguing and unusual series. On the whole the series is witty and done with a very light touch but it has its occasional darker moments. Raffles is an anti-hero, even if he’s a very charming anti-hero.
